The National AIDS Commission (NAC) established the Grants Facility in 2004 to increase the utilization of HIV prevention, treatment, care and support and impact mitigation services across Malawi. The Grants Facility is a mechanism through which HIV and AIDS financial resources are channelled to various organisations at national, district and community levels to implement HIV and AIDS programs in line with NSP goals and objectives. The NAC Grant Management facilitates the review of proposals submitted by implementing partners and ensures that financial resources for implementation of interventions are disbursed to organisations with capacity to implement programmes. Cumulatively, as at 30 December 2016, MK183.3 billion has been disbursed since the establishment of the Grants Facility.
